- Role: IT Executive
- Location: Kampala
- Reporting To: IT Lead
About the Role
As an IT Executive, you will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining the company’s IT systems and infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and ensuring seamless IT operations across multiple platforms and locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support & Systems Administration
- Provide Level 1 (L1) support for key systems including:
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- ERP platforms such as SAP S/4HANA and Sage300
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware (laptops, desktops, servers) and software
- Manage user accounts, access rights, and software licenses
- Ensure IT support aligns with internal policies and industry standards
2. Infrastructure Support
- Maintain connectivity across distributed sites
- Ensure stable internet, 5G/GPS systems for fleet tracking and IoT devices
- Support and manage servers, networks, and cloud environments
3. Data Integrity & Security
- Safeguard company data from threats such as ransomware and unauthorized access
- Implement and manage security measures including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Maintain reliable data backup systems to prevent downtime
4. Vendor Management
- Liaise with external vendors for procurement, maintenance, and system upgrades
5. Asset & Hardware Management
- Maintain accurate IT asset records (hardware, software, licenses)
- Troubleshoot and support field office IT systems
- Track system performance and ensure optimal availability
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on IT experience, including end-user support
- Technical Skills:
- Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure
- Certifications (Advantage): ITIL, CompTIA A+
